Leaders of Engineers of the Future project published the progress of the past 3 years.

On May 14th Engineers of the Future held a press conference dedicated to “Up-to-date educational technologies: 3D-modelling in colleges”, as well as Scarlextric4Schools competition taking place the 1st time in Russia. Spice Media provided media support for the event.

Machinery Engineering software developer PTC Inc. in cooperation with Engineering consultancy Irisoft initiated a pilot project Engineers of the Future in 2011 with aim to promote technical professions among school children and to nurture qualified engineers.

Project originators told about its background and results accomplished since the start. Engineers of the Future program got into active phase in 2013 when city officials decided to subsidize part of federal investments for transferring some schools for new standards under regional education development.

18 city districts managed to create nano-labs, and 3 others enabled 3D-modelling labs (Vasileostrovsky, Centralny, и Kirovsky). Each engineering lab was supported by 6 mln rubles.

Having visited one of 3D modeling labs in College №244 journalists could see model development and printing process in practice, as well as holding press conference in the same facility.
